Air travel has become an essential mode of transportation, and airports are the gateways to the world. However, some airports are far from being desirable. They are plagued with problems ranging from long lines to poor facilities to safety concerns. In this article, we’ll look at some of the world's worst airports, based on various factors like cleanliness, services, accessibility, and overall experience.

 1. Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Philippines Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is considered one of the worst airports in the world due to several factors such as poor infrastructure, overcrowding, and frequent flight cancellations and delays. The airport is the primary gateway to the Philippines and serves more than 40 airlines with domestic and international flights. NAIA has faced criticism for its lack of facilities and amenities, with passengers frequently complaining about the long queues, insufficient seating, and limited dining options. In addition to these issues, NAIA has also faced significant security concerns, with passengers reporting incidents of theft and other crimes. The airport has recently taken steps to improve its facilities and security, but it remains one of the world's worst airports. 

2. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Kenya Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is the main airport in Kenya and serves as a hub for African airlines such as Kenya Airways. Despite its importance, poor infrastructure, security concerns, and inadequate facilities continue to plague it. It has a limited number of runways and insufficient capacity to handle the growing number of passengers. The airport has also faced criticism for its lack of accessibility for passengers with disabilities, including the absence of dedicated facilities and services. 

 3. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Nepal Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) is the primary airport serving Nepal and is located in the capital city of Kathmandu. It is known for its overcrowding, and safety concerns. Passengers have reported long queues and limited seating. Furthermore, safety concerns have been raised regarding the airport's limited security measures and inadequate emergency response procedures.  

4. Port-au-Prince International Airport, Haiti Port-au-Prince International Airport in Haiti is notorious for its poor safety record. In 2012, the airport was deemed "significant safety concerns" by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Additionally, the airport is in a highly earthquake-prone area, and it lacks the necessary infrastructure to withstand a major seismic event. The airport's terminal is outdated and lacks basic amenities such as air conditioning and working toilets. Passengers also report long wait times and frequent power outages. In 2018, the airport was ranked the worst airport in the world by The Guide to Sleeping in Airports. 

5. King Abdulaziz International Airport (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is one of the largest airports in Saudi Arabia, serving millions of passengers each year. However, the airport has a reputation for being poorly-managed and inadequately-equipped, leading to long wait times, safety concerns, and other problems. One of the most serious issues at JED is the lack of effective security measures. In 2019, the airport was criticized by the US Federal Aviation Administration for failing to meet international security standards, putting passengers at risk. This is particularly concerning given the ongoing threat of terrorism in the region. Another major issue at JED is the state of the facilities. Many passengers report dirty and overcrowded bathrooms, as well as inadequate seating, poor air conditioning, and other problems. This can make the experience of waiting for a flight at JED extremely uncomfortable, particularly during the hot and humid summer months.
